HBO To Submit ‘LEMONADE’ For Emmy Consideration.

Beyonce Lemonade

It looks like Beyoncé might be one step closer to scoring an EGOT. After receiving a slate of top notch reviews from music journalists across the globe, the film portion of Lemonade might be up for an Emmy.

HBO is reportedly working out the details to submit the project for Emmy consideration with main directors, Beyoncé and Kahlil Joseph. Lemonade’s additional directors, Melina Matsoukas, Todd Tourso, Dikayl Rimmasch, Jonas Akerlund and Mark Romanek can also be added to the submission.

This isn’t the first time that Bey has attracted some Emmy buzz, in the past she’s been nominated for her Super Bowl XLVII Halftime Show in 2013 and for her “On the Run Tour” concert special with husband Jay Z in 2015.

Even though Lemonade can no longer be viewed on HBO, it’s April 23rd premiere date makes it eligible for Emmy consideration. If you haven’t already, you can watch the film and listen to the album on TiDAL and Amazon.

The 2016 Emmy nominations will be announced on July 14, and Jimmy Kimmel will host the 68th Annual Primetime Emmys on September 18th.
