One strangely positive aspect of the controversy surrounding that abysmal Nina Simone film is the renewed interest in her life and work.
In this latest project, Simone’s debut album, Little Girl Blue gets the remix treatment by a team of experimental music producers, that includes DJ Maestro among other talents.
The album, which was first released in 1958, marked the beginning of Simone’s career as a jazz singer and aspiring classical pianist.
Preview a few tracks before the album’s official release on April 22.
