Last Thursday, news broke that Lupita Nyong’o’s stunning custom pearl dress by Calvin Klein had been stolen out of her hotel room in West Hollywood and that the police were investigating.

TMZ received an anonymous call from someone claiming to be the thief. The caller also told the gossip site that they had decided to return the dress after having pearls from the dress analyzed and confirmed as fakes. The dress, valued at $125,000, was found in a bag under the sink in one of the public bathrooms in the hotel. Calvin Klein has released a statement.

“All of us at Calvin Klein are thrilled to know that the dress has potentially been located,” says Francisco Costa, women’s creative director at Calvin Klein Collection. “This was an amazing collaboration between the brand and Lupita and the dress looked truly exquisite on her. Once it’s returned to us, we will be able to have the dress restored and archived, as it now represents an important moment for the brand.”
