Augusta Uwamanzu-Nna, a high school senior and the daughter of Nigerian immigrants, has a really big decision ahead of her in the coming months. The student at Elmont High School, in suburban New York, was recently accepted to all 8 Ivy League schools. She also happens to be Elmont High School’s valedictorian.

“It would’ve been a great honor to get into just one Ivy League school, so being able to get into all of them was shocking,” she said. “I think it speaks volumes about my support system — my parents, my teachers, my school.”

Uwamanzu-Nna hasn’t made her decision, but she has until May 1 to decide. She was also accepted to Johns Hopkins University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, New York University and Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

Regardless of where she ends up this fall, she hopes to pursue her interest in biochemistry and environmental studies with a science-related major.
