Trailer For Upcoming Michel’le Biopic Confirms Film Will Depict an Abusive Dr. Dre.

Michel'le Surviving Compton

When R&B songstress and ex-wife of rapper/mogul Dr. Dre, Michel’le, announced her upcoming Lifetime biopic, Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le, we honestly didn’t know what to expect. While Michel’le has always been candid about her abuse at the hands of Andre Romelle Young, best known as Dr. Dre, it wasn’t quite clear how it would translate into a TV movie. But, a new trailer for the film reveals that the production decided to take the depiction of abuse head on.

In this first teaser, we see Michel’le, played by Rhyon Nicole Brown, being choked by Curtis Hamilton as Dr. Dre. Brown also manages to pull off Michel’le’s signature high-pitched voice.

Earlier reports also confirmed that Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le will also depict Michel’le’s relationship with Suge Knight. No word on what that might look like, as the man himself sent Michel’le a sternly worded legal letter, earlier this year, requesting that she not defame him.

Surviving Compton: Dre, Suge & Michel’le is set to premiere in October.
