iDiversicons, Katrina Parrott

When Katrina Parrott a mom and employee of NASA from Houston got laid off last year, she decided to take some time to find her true calling. Her calling turned out to be iDiversicons, a new collection of diverse Emoji with over 900 options and growing. Parrott even takes requests to add to the growing list of emoji, which includes same-sex couples, interracial couples, women police officers, and even different breeds of dogs. iDiversicons are currently available as an app in the Google Play and Apple app stores, but Parrott is working on keyboard integration. She has even met with Apple to work on a partnership. Last year Apple released a statement regarding the lack of diversity in emoji.
