Like many folks, I decided to skip out on watching the Oscar’s this year, but of course I couldn’t pass up the red carpet. Congratulations to John Legend and Common for winning the award for “Best Original Song” for their song “Glory.”
Zendaya
The young actress and singer has been experimenting with her looks quite a bit lately. Her beautiful faux locs were a great choice for the star.
Solange
The songstress’ bold, red overlay jumpsuit by Christian Siriano was the perfect balance of unique, quirky, and elegant that only Solange can achieve.
Zoe Saldana
The actress showed off her post-baby body in this lovely pale pink number. This was her first red carpet appearance since giving birth to twins in November.
Kerry Washington
Her strapless number has been getting mixed reviews. The dress while classic and elegant, is decidedly blah in a sea of showstopping dresses.
Lupita Nyong’o
The actress’ custom Calvin Klein dress was the talk of the town. The standout look required nearly 6,000 pearls.
Ava DuVernay
The filmmaker always hits it out of the park on the red carpet, and this look was no exception. The exquisite beading and lovely pale blue shade give her look a sort of 60’s vibe.
Octavia Spencer
Her pastel green number was another red carpet hit. But, I admit to be conflicted about the sleeves.
Viola Davis
Her lovely Zac Posen dress featured architectural Art Deco lines, and her accessories compliment the look perfectly.
Jennifer Hudson
The singer was one of the few women to rock the color yellow on the red carpet. She also delivered a powerhouse performance later that evening.
