Several media outlets are reporting that sales this past “Black Friday” have dropped slightly, positing that the frenzied shopping event has lost it’s luster to bargain hunters. But, is #BlackOutBlackFriday, the actual cause for this slight drop?
In a world where capitalism, politics, and social issues intertwine at the expense of the disenfranchised, filmmakers Ryan Coogler, Shaka King, Terence Nance urged African-Americans to hit back. The movement was also supported by filmmaker Ava DuVernay, as well as a host of celebrities, including Soledad O’Brien, Kat Graham, and Solange, who delayed the release of her sneaker line to today.
