Comedian, social media star, and Buzzfeed Motion Pictures producer Quinta Brunson is set to star in and write two new web series. One will air on YouTube Red, Google’s $9.99-a-month subscription service. The other series will air on Verizon’s go90 network.
Brunson, who first landed on our radars back in 2014 with her “The Girl Who’s Never Been on a Nice Date” series, is one of 7 creators handpicked by BFMP as part of the company’s new push into Hollywood. Part of her new deal includes a 2-year contract to create content exclusively for Buzzfeed Motion Pictures.
Brunson’s first series, “Broke,” is an 11-episode scripted comedy about a group of friends and their financial struggles. The series will also star Maurice Williams and Paul Dupree and is set to debut on September 28th.
“Adopted,” Brunson’s second series, will start shooting this month. Also a scripted series, “Adopted” focuses on a group of 4 women who meet every Saturday to volunteer at a pet adoption clinic.
