Condoleezza Rice vs. Kamala Harris? This ‘Historic Election’ is Probably Not Going to Happen.

Despite overwhelming support from black conservative groups and high marks in a new Field Poll it’s highly unlikely that Condoleezza Rice will be running against California Attorney General Kamala Harris for the Senate seat vacated by Barbara Boxer.

After Harris’ rumored bid for the seat was officially confirmed, the discussion turned to speculation over whom Harris would be running against. Rice, whose name has also been floated as a presidential hopeful in the past, is a popular choice, but it’s definitely not happening. Her Chief of Staff confirmed this earlier this month,

“It’s not even a consideration,” Georgia Godfrey, Rice’s chief of staff, tells The Hill via email. “She’s happy here at Stanford!”

Rice was also quoted as saying, just last year, that former Florida Governor Jeb Bush would make a “fantastic” President.
