Over the years, Hood By Air designer Shayne Oliver has garnered critical acclaim for his avant-garde streetwear aesthetic. Now it looks like Oliver will be part of some major changes at iconic designer Helmut Lang. Following the announcement of Dazed editor-in-chief Isabella Burley as the brand’s editor-in-residence, Burley has appointed Oliver to work on a new capsule collection for Helmut Lang.
Though Oliver canceled Hood By Air’s Fall/Winter 2017 show, a statement to Business of Fashion confirms that his label isn’t going anywhere for the time being.
“Shayne is currently focusing his time on the special project with Helmut Lang. As a result, HBA will be continued but is transitioning to accommodate this. We will be releasing more information soon.”
It’s not yet clear in what capacity Oliver will be working with Helmut Lang.
