It’s been quite a journey for Lizzo, the rapper, songstress and Minneapolis native — who first gained major recognition in 2013.

Lizzo’s latest, Coconut Oil marks her evolution and reinforces the message of self-love that’s always been present in her music. The music is fun and energetic, but also soulful and deeply personal.

“Coconut Oil is the ultimate ode to self-care and to my process,” Lizzo tells Rolling Stone. “I’m not there yet, but I’m creating my music so I can get there.”
