Lupita Nyong’o hit the red carpet for the Queen of Katwe premiere in Los Angeles in a stunning lavender gown from Elie Saab’s Report 2017 collection. She paired the look with a custom headwrap.
The Oscar-winner recently turned heads at the Toronto International Film Festival, where she also sported boldly hued dresses and jumpsuits with coordinating headwraps and Nigerian gele.
Nyong’o tells PEOPLE magazine that she’s become more outgoing and secure when it comes to her personal style.
“I’ve grown more playful,” said Nyong’o. “It’s not as precious as it once was. That first time at TIFF there was so much I didn’t understand.”
Nyong’o was also joined by her co-stars, including David Oyelowo, who rocked a pretty dapper, complementary suit in royal purple with African fabric accents. Oyelowo’s look comes courtesy of Los Angeles based shop Kutula by Africana.
