The Splurge. The Maasai Sandal. By Brother Vellies.

Brother Vellies Maasai Sandal

Created by New York Designer Aurora James, Brother Vellies, which is handcrafted in South Africa, Kenya, and Namibia, is best known for their unique take on the velskoen. Velskoen, or South African walking boots, are considered a precursor to the modern day Desert Boot.

This time around, the designer goes to Kenya to create a distinct statement sandal inspired by the Maasai. The hand beaded sandals, which include buckles made out of repurposed brass, and hand dyed feathers are available at Brother Vellies for $1,250.00.
