Four years after Whitney Houston’s untimely death, BBC recently revealed plans to produce a documentary about the late star.
The project, titled Whitney, will be directed by Nick Broomfield (Sarah Palin: You Betcha!, Aileen: Life and Death of a Serial Killer, Kurt & Courtney) and will take an in-depth look at her life.
According to a statement released by the media giant, Whitney will go “in search of the forces that made and then destroyed the singer who has been described as having one of the greatest voices of the last 50 years.”
So far, few details have been released about the project, which comes on the heels of a Lifetime biopic about Houston that focused on a specific period in her life and career.
Over the years several unauthorized, independent documentaries about Whitney Houston have been produced, but this is the first project from a major media company.
