On April 20th, Orange is the New Black actress Uzo Aduba will be taking on the 26.2 mile Boston marathon, for a good cause. This will mark Aduba’s second marathon; she ran her first in New York in 2012, also to support Cancer research.
“When I ran New York, there were four people in my life — one had passed, and three were battling cancer,” Aduba said. “Now, today, there’s only one still fighting.”
The Emmy-winning actress, who has already raised over $4,000 for the cause has been doing some hardcore training to prep for the big run, by running 5 miles a day and 10-18 miles on weekends.
Aduba is also getting ready for the third season of the award-winning Netflix series Orange is the New Black, which will premiere in June.
