Lila & Eve is an upcoming film starring Viola Davis and Jennifer Lopez as two grief-stricken mothers who decide to avenge their children’s deaths and take matters into their own hands after local authorities prove to be no help.

In this exclusive clip for Entertainment Weekly, Lopez’s character, “Eve,” is trying to convince Viola Davis’ character, to go along with the plan. The film has drawn comparisons to 90’s classic Thelma & Louise.

Lila & Eve, which was produced in part by Davis’ production company, JuVee Productions,founded with her husband Julius Tennon, hits theaters on July 17th. Watch the clip below.
