Candomblé is an Afro-Brazilian religion brought to Brazil by African Slaves. Candomblé literally means dance in honor of the gods. It is a mixture of Yoruba, Fon, and Bantu beliefs from Africa with Western Catholicism, and is built on oral tradition with no written doctrine or scripture.
