Formerly rejected by FIT and Parsons, LaQuan Smith has come along way from his grandparent’s house in Queens which served as his based of operations in the early days of his line. His grandmother taught him to sew at a young age. Smith, who has dressed Beyonce, Rihanna, and Alicia Keys, is now at the helm of a fashion business which grossed $500,000 last year, without any debt.
