Collections. ‘Ashasie3.’ Ghanian Brand Hazza Unveils SS16 Campaign.

Hazza Ghana Fashion

Created by Hassan Alfaziz Iddriss, Hazza, is an ethically-produced, unisex brand, based in Ghana. For their Spring/Summer collection, “Ashasie3,” we see beautiful original illustrations, and cool kimono style silhouettes. Iddriss collaborated with photographer Quincy Koranteng , and models Julee Djoulde Bocoum, Laurie Frimpong, Richmond Ekow Barnes, and Prince Sitsope.

“Hazza,” means beautiful/handsome in Arabic, while the collection takes its name, “Ashasie3,” from a local language.

According to Iddriss,

Ashasie3, in our local dialect, means the beginning, and the collection pays homage to the struggles of a mother, and the strength and courage to enable her children to succeed. The collection unfolds bearing witness to a love so strong that it couldn’t possibly exist in reality, because a mother’s love is real. The beautiful and otherworldly nature of this tale is reflected in the prints, placed concept pockets that are strong and present. The deep forest green signifies her courage through it all, and also stands for balance, nature, and rebirth. Crowning her glory and nature of her love and desires for her children is the colour white. Filled with little details, like the hand-painted artwork, which are there to impress upon us the nature and status, and also the love mothers have for their children.
