For Fall 2016, Nigerian designer Amaka Osakwe, of Maki Oh asks ” What does it mean to be a black woman?”
The end result, a luxurious mix of fabrics, silhouettes, textures, and patterns is something that the designer simply describes as “quite dark.”
“There’s really nothing I can do but be proud of who I am and just keep trying to make people see the beauty in me and my culture and all of what I stand for,” she says.
