Writer, comedian, and actress Natasha Rothwell will be making some major moves in 2017. While she has some pretty impressive credits to her name, including writing gigs for Saturday Night Live and Insecure, Rothwell has gained a lot of recognition as of late for stepping in front of the camera. She plays the hilarious character Kelli on Insecure. Recently it was announced that Rothwell had been bumped up to a series regular and this won’t be her only work with HBO.
The network also revealed that Rothwell is set to star in and produce her own scripted comedy series for HBO as part of a development deal. Rothwell will also continue to write for Insecure, in addition to serving as executive story editor for the series.
If a whole year is too long to wait for more from Natasha Rothwell, you can catch her in the Netflix series, The Characters, where she stars as one of 8 up-and-coming comedians who were given the opportunity to improv their own 30-minute episode.
