It takes perseverance: I got into modeling at the age of 10. I was always super tall for my age and through a family friend I was able to do print ads and fashion shows. The first time I walked down the runway I was hooked! I always felt awkward–like the ugliest duckling growing up, but once I hit the runway I felt brave and finally comfortable in my own skin. I did modeling off and on for a while and got back into it full force after I had my daughter in 2008.
Life in the industry: My experience in the industry has been a very humbling and sometimes overwhelming one. I have done everything from making it as a finalist for America’s Next Top Model (Cycle 13, top 20), to doing commercials for various products, and everything in between.
My most recent commercial was for a product called Naturally Free. I was selected by the owner of the product to do the commercial, that was a huge honor. (link: http://www.naturallyfree.com/ ). I’ve also worked with other major brands for print and runway, such as: Strength of Nature, Reco Chappell, Trumpet Awards, & Paul Mitchell Hair, just to name a few. I’ve been in the industry for a long time so there’s been a lot of learning the ins and outs of it. One of my pursuits currently is taking an active role in mentoring other models and youth interested in becoming models.
When she’s not hard at work: I’m creative and a free spirit. When I’m not modeling and busy doing commercials I’m busy chasing after my beautiful 5 year old daughter, Jade Sarai. I’m currently obtaining my Master’s Degree in Public Relations and Journalism at Full Sail University and interning with Premium Society PR!
I’m also currently the Creative Director for an interactive blog call 3 Girls With a Camera (www.threegwc.com) where we inspire creativity and honor the creative process. I’m passionate about everything I’m involved in, I try to give my all in each area in my life.
More about Quisha: I’m a very random person! Within a single sentence I’ll go from talking about traveling to cartoons. Now a days people get so caught up in the hustle and bustle of everyday life that they forget to actually LIVE. It’s important to take a break from it all, have fun, be silly, and spontaneous! I absolutely love to dance and I dabble in writing as well, I’ve had my poetry nationally published!
