Confessions of a Token Black Girl takes a comedic and heartfelt look at the experiences of author Danielle Small. After her mother’s marriage in 2001, Small was relocated to a small town in Wisconsin, where she and her mother were the only black people in a population of 1600 and Danielle was the only black child in her school. Eventually, Danielle and her family relocated to a larger, more diverse, city in Wisconsin, where Danielle was no longer the only black child in school. She was now one out of five. Hilarity ensues, leading Danielle to write stories about her experience such as ‘That Time a Peruvian Kid Tried To Sell Michelle Obama Cocaine’. Download it.
