Soon You’ll Finally Be Able To Text 911.

Text to 911

While the near ubiquity of cell phone technology has lead to emergency alerts and Amber alerts being widely available via text message, mobile phone users are still unable to text 911. According the FCC, approximately 400,000 Americans call 911 everyday; 70% of those callers use cell phones. If a caller is in a situation where they can’t speak, the ability to text 911 could save a life.

The ability to text 911 currently has limited availability but will be available through all phone carriers on May 15th.
