Adaptive, a new clothing line by Tommy Hilfiger is garnering heaps of praise since its official launch earlier this week.
The speciality collection features velcro closures, magnetic buttons, and other subtle design features to make dressing easier for children and adults with different abilities.
Adaptive’s diverse ad campaign stars Paralympians and disabilities rights advocates, and fashion bloggers like Mama Cāx.
In 2016, Tommy Hilfiger launched an Adaptive line for children, after working with Runway of Dreams, a non-profit that focuses on accessible clothing options for children. This year, Hilfiger extended the line to include fashion for adults.
Adaptive is the first of its kind from a major fashion label. With 20% of Americans currently living with disabilities, hopefully other big brands will follow Tommy Hilfiger’s lead.
