Twelve years since it first premiered and six years since it last aired, VH1’s Hip Hop Honors made a grand return last night with “All Hail The Queens.” The show was all about celebrating some of the women who paved the way in hip-hop. Honorees included Queen Latifah, Salt-N-Pepa, Lil’ Kim, and Missy Elliot.
The night opened with a speech from Activist Darnell Moore and Black Lives Matter co-founder Alicia Garza.
Lil’ Kim proved to be a major standout of the night with a star-studded tribute that even paid homage to some of her iconic fashions. Solange Knowles, Teyana Taylor, Dej Loaf and Desiigner performed ‘Crush On You,’ ‘No Time’ and ‘All About The Benjamins.’
