South African runner Caster Semenya first made international headlines back in 2009 for all the wrong reasons when her biological sex came under scrutiny. The highly skilled athlete, Semenya later went on to take home a silver medal in the women’s 800 meters at the 2012 Olympics.
Now, at 23 years of age, Caster is planning to tie the knot with her partner Violet Raseboya. Roseboya is also a runner. The Daily Sun reports Caster’s family negotiated lobola, a form of dowry, with Violet’s family and that both families are very happy and in the midst of wedding preparations.
In a recent interview, Caster Semenya lovingly said of her Fiancée,”She’s the most important person in my life.”
Congratulations Caster and Violet!
