Directed and co-written by Ava DuVernay, “Selma” 1965 Selma to Montgomery voting rights marches, which were lead by Martin Luther King Jr., James Bevel, Hosea Williams, and John Lewis. The film stars David Oyelowo as King and Carmen Ejogo as Coretta Scott King. Tom Wilkinson, Common, Colman Domingo, Tim Roth, Giovanni Ribisi, Keith Stanfield, Andre Holland, Tessa Thompson, Kent Faulcon, Oprah Winfrey, and more also feature in “Selma.” The film will hit theaters on Christmas Day, with a limited release, and a nationwide release on January 9, 2015.
