Created by filmmaker Becca Hyman, The Bull & The Bass is the story of a Jamaican immigrant in Britain in the 1940’s trying to hold onto his aspirations of music and stardoms while trying to support his family, as told by his daughter, Hyman’s mother. The short film, splits between hazy, cinematic footage, in 16mm format, and a documentary-style, yet deeply personal first-person account.
