Well, that was fast. Last Thursday, Chastity of Garner Style, a popular plus-size fashion blog, wrote an open letter to Target. She called the brand out for it’s ongoing lack of plus-size options in it’s designer collaboration collections and also called on fellow fashionistas to boycott. Her post quickly gained traction and Refinery29 reached out to Joshua Thomas, a representative of Target for comment, and received this response,
“We never want our guests to feel disappointed, and if we’ve let them down, we apologize. We appreciate the opportunity to hear directly from our guests. We’ll take this feedback into consideration as we move forward. In the meantime, we offer a variety of plus options. We’ll also be introducing a new plus line in the near future that features a focus on the latest styles, all at great prices.”
Here’s to hoping that we actually see some major changes around this time in 2015, when the next big collaboration hits shelves.
