Back in August of 2001, less than month before 9/11, then Senator Barack Obama appeared on Check, Please!, a Chicago Area PBS show. The clip isn’t particularly earth shattering; we learn Obama’s favorite dish is the “Southern Platter,” and that he appreciates a good value. I have to admit it’s kind jarring to see him to young looking and the host addressing him to casually by his first name.
